My New Cymbal..... Also, New Picture Of My Kit!

Well, On wednesday, i had my second edition of of Zildjian ZXT Titanium series. First I got the 16" Med-thin Crash, and wednesday i got the 18" Thin Crash from the Birmingham Drum Center;

P.s. R.I.P. Cyrell Wade (My grandfather), May his soul rest in peace, he will be greatly missed by all family and friends.

Happy birthday to Hannah, my girlfriend. We have been seeing each other now for about three and a half years, and love each other very much. She is 19 today!!!!!!

Starting New...

Well, seeing as it is the end of Purple Ink for good now, me and my friend Ryhad are forming a new band. We are currently searching for a bassist and then were going to get some practice in and see how it goes. I will keep ya'll updated and informed on whats going on. Whish me luck.... -Wade

Oh Crap!

After all the hard work and effort that has been put into recording our demo, Purple Ink are now set to split. The other guys just cant be bothered any more. So after recording the songs, we now might as well delete them. Oh well, shit happens! Lets see how this shit turns out. -Wade

Good News!

We have finished recording Hatrid Of Inoriginality last night, and A Kind Of Lonlyness is almost finished too. The first 2 track CD of Purple Ink will be finished SOON!!!! When it is done I will host it somewhere and put a link up on here so ya'll can preview our demo. What we will do is keep the tracks on the Macs at college and record more songs as we go along and will have our album underway too.

Another thing, it doesnt look like the Paul Pry gig will go ahead, but like I said before, I will keep everyone informed. -Wade

These Are Cool...

Using the Zildjian setup creator on the Zildjian web site, i have designed two drum kits. The first one might seem a bit fimiliar:



The cymbols are: 14" solid Titanium Hi-Hats, 10" Titanium Fast Splash, 16" Titanium Medium-Thin Crash, 18" Titanium Medium-Thin Crash, 18" Titanium Total China, 20" Titanium Rock Ride.
You will notice that this is the same as my current setup, except with the full set of ZXT Titanium cymbols (Yes, the China cymbol is bronze, but thats what it looks like on the setup creator, in the pictures its titanium).

The next picture is my Dream design. When i make it (yes, when :P ) and get a sponsorship my Zildjian (I am being hopeful here, aint i :D ), this is the setup i will have:



This kit is huge. I am not a fan of excessivly huge kits, but this has exactly all the sounds i want. It is a double bass, 5 tom (3 rack, 2 floor) kit with dual Hi-Hats: 14" Avedis Mastersound, 14" ZXT Titanium Solid Hi-Hats, three splash cymbols: 8" Avedis Splash, 9" Oriental Trash Splash, 10" ZXT Titanium Flash Splash, five crash cymbols: 16" Titanium Medium-Thin Crash, 16" Avedis Thin Crash, 17" K Dark Crash Thin, 18" Oriental Crash Of Doom, 20" A Custom Projection Crash, two china cymbols: 17" K Custom Dark China, 20" Oriental Classic China, and one Ride Cymbol: 20" ZXT Titanium Rock Ride. Yes, this is a big kit, and most likely worth £10,000 plus.

Paul Pry Gig

Ok, heres some news about a gig at the "Paul Pry" ( a pub in Worcester City Center) which we are not sure if it is actually going to go ahead. The gig is at the end of this month (ill post excact date/time when I get conformation) and we will be accompanied by a band called "Meet Me At Midnight." As far as I know, they are headlining. Meet Me At Midnight are a band also based in worcester, and 3/4 of them study Music Tech at the Worcester Tech College with myself and Ryhad, and they are very good friends with us.
What the main problem is, is that we (Purple Ink) havn't actually had a full band practice in..... Well, quite a while, put it that way. So, we are not sure if we are going to do the gig or pull out. Its been organised by Shane, without proir consent of the rest of the band. This isnt good news for everyone else because we are not prepared for it in the slightest.
Well, this is all I can say at this time, but I will post more information as and when it comes in. -Wade.

As i promised, here are some pictures and a layout of my kit in its current setup.






Here is a layout of my kit, I change the setup quite regurlarly but this is what it looks like right now:

I soon plan on replacing all of my current cymbols with a set of Zildjian ZXT Titanium cumbols, these will include 14" hi-hats, a 10" splash, a 20" medium-thin ride, an 18" china and I will keep my 16" medium-thin crash, and buy a new 18" medium-thin crash to go with it. I might buy a Zildjian Avedis 8" and 12" splashes to complete my set. I will have one either side of my hi-hat, and the spare one will go between my bass mounted tom and my Ride.

Its been so long...

Its been a while since I last made a post in my blog, a lot has happened. Firstly, purple ink have their first CD underway in at the Worcester Tech College. It will be a 3 track CD as the band havn't anywhere to practice for the last few months. Secondly, my drumming is getting much better, certain people have heard me play, and say that I am up to profesional standard, so I cant be all that bad! ;-P
There will be some pictures of my Tama Rockstar DX and its setup comming up later. I will also post a layout of it.

Ive been busy!

Yeah, well, me and the band have been working hard. We have the drums and guitars down for our demo, now we just have to wait until Jonny is free to do the bass, and the vocals will be done at the weekend. The three tracks that we've done are: 'A Kind Of Lonlyness,' 'Tombi,' and 'Hatrid Of Inoriganality.' The CD will be avail for retail at any all of our gigs, and by email order. NEWS FLASH!!!

Purple Ink are recording their debuit album later in the year.
We are doing this as part of mine and Ryhads FMP (Final Major Project) for college. The album will be recorded this year, and next year, the best song that is on there will have a video and this will also be on the album, as a special eddition so look forward to finally having some final stuff down.

Happy Birthday To ME!

Well, its the day after my birthday. Last night was spent in town in the pub and a great time was had by all. Today was full of recovery after drinking Absenth for some reason last night.
On a better note though, i recived a really smart digital video camera for me birthday, so look out for lots of pics and vids of me and the guys jamming.
